 Call to Order

The regular meeting of the Hope Welty Public Library (HWPL) was held at the library on March 9,2016. The meeting was called to order by President,Genea Lawler,at 3:03 PM.  Board members answering roll call were Mary Hissong, Genea Lawler, Janice Lonnon,Chelle Shivley, Tina Arseneau and Library Director, Shari Rawlings. Absent: Nancy McDermith and Linda Martin.

Public Forum


Minutes of Last HWPL Meeting

Minutes of the meeting on February 17,2016 were presented. Chelle Shivley moved the minutes be accepted. Janice Lonnon seconded the motion. All present voted aye. No nays. Absent : Nancy McDermith and Linda Martin.

 Treasurer's Report

Chelle Shivley, Treasurer, reported there is a balance of $162.360.74 before paying the month's bills. Expenses for the month are  $7,105.18. Mary Hissong moved expenses be allowed and Tina Arseneau seconded that motion. All present voted aye. No nays. Absent : Nancy McDermith and Linda Martin. Motion carried.

Director's Report

Two people were contacted for landscaping bids.They will be giving estimates for review. Pie Day was very successful, 50 people were served. Shari attended a director's meeting. The per capita grant was cut to .77 per person.

Old Business

Two more "none" sheets need to be signed. Shari will send in what we have and send the rest in later. The amended Gifts and Bequests Policy was reviewed. Chelle Shively moved to adopt the amended policy, Janice Lonnon seconded the motion.

New Business

The adult reading program is going well, 4th and 5th grade reading program will start soon. Summer Reading Program will be beginning soon. There has been an interest in an Adult Coloring time.

Other Info and Business

 Personnel for Summer Reading Program was discussed. The auditor sent in the financial statement.

Janice Lonnon moved to adjourn the meeting at 3:39 pm, seconded by Chelle Shivley. All present voted aye, no nays. Motion carried.
