Call to Order:
The regular monthly meeting of the Hope Welty Public Library (HWPL)
District board of trustees was
held at the library on March 12, 2010. The meeting was called to
order at 1:00 PM by the President.
Present were board members: Irma Joynt, Janice Buckley, Tracy Mogged,
Genea Lawler, Chelle
Shively, Mary Hissong and Library Director, Sandra Hayes. Janice
Lonnon was absent.
Minutes of last HWPL meeting:
Minutes of the previous month's HWPL board meeting were read and
approved.
Treasurer's Report:
The treasurer's report was given by the treasurer and showed a
balance of $82,729.63 before paying
bills. Expenses for the month were $8,608.41. Chelle moved expenses
be allowed, and Mary seconded
the motion. All present voted aye. Motion carried.
Announcements:
● Lenora Beery memorial money received $690. Family requests chair
for the children's area.
Time for Librarian:

Construction grant update – HWPL received an award letter from
Sec. Of State for grant amount of $31,500

Schedule of library events for April was given to the board
-
Sandra asked that she be able to hire a student to help with
summer reading. Genea moved to approve the hiring of a student for
minimum wage, and Tracy seconded the motion. All present voted aye;
motion carried

The library is having BINGO in the back room once a month, for fun,
not profit.

The library received a letter stating that it was left off the
listings for the TIF district. The oversight will be corrected.

Old Business:
● Library repairs are on hold until grant money received
● Policy updates from last month were discussed; Bloodborne
Pathogens; Confidentiality of
Records; Freedom of Information Act. Tracy moved to approve the
policies from the February
meeting, and Chelle seconded the motion. All present voted aye;
motion carried.
● The economic interest forms have all been submitted.
New Business:
● There is a need for a weather closing policy for HWPL. Sandra will
write one up for the
next board meeting.
● CD for $15,339.40 matured at bank on 2/17/10 and was put into the
general fund.
