Hope Welty Public Library District Board of Trustees Minutes

July 9, 2010

Call to Order:

The regular monthly meeting of the Hope Welty Public Library (HWPL) District board of trustees was held at the library on July 9, 2010.  The meeting was called to order at 1:00 PM by the President.  Present were board members: Irma Joynt, Janice Lonnon (by phone), Genea Lawler,

Mary Hissong, and Library Director, Sandra Hayes.  Absent was Janice Buckley, Chelle Shively and Tracy Mogged. 

Minutes of last HWPL meeting:

Minutes of the previous month's HWPL board meeting were read and approved.

Treasurer's Report:

The treasurer's report was given by the director and showed a balance of $81,179.89.  Expenses for the month were $10,612.12.  Genea moved expenses be allowed, and Mary seconded the motion.  All present voted aye.  Motion carried. 

Announcements:

• No announcements. 

Time for Librarian:

●         There will be a TIF meeting on June 16 at 1:30.  Genea will represent the library.

●         Summer reading donations were received from Sam’s Club, $25, and Village of Cerro Gordo in the form of 10-$5 Judy’s gift certificates.

●         Sandi will be on vacation July 12-16 and Sept. 13-17

Old Business:

●         S&S Landscaping has removed yews and submitted a bid for the west of the library that was reviewed and tabled at this time

●         Memorial Fund/long term planning committee needed

●         Comp-time policy needed

●         Meeting room renovations still on hold

New Business:

• Financial report was reviewed 
• The budget for FY10-11 is ready to send to the lawyer.
• Hunter’s last day is scheduled for July 14th
