Hope Welty Public Library Board of Trustees Minutes - Special Meeting

July 29, 2011

Call to Order:

The special meeting of the Hope Welty Public Library (HWPL) District board of trustees was held at the library on July 29, 2011.  The meeting was called to order at 8:00 AM by the Vice-President, Mary Hissong.  Present were board members:  Genea Lawler, Nancy McDermith, Chelle Shively, Mary Hissong, Janice Lonnon, and Library Director, Sandra Hayes.

Old Business

   - Library renovations

            Mary Hissong reported on her meeting with Sherwin-Williams regarding painting.  It was recommended that the doorways and pillars be lightly sanded prior to painting.  Some of the pillars will need spackling and sanding prior to painting.  It was also recommended that all the walls be painted not just areas behind the bookshelves.  An eggshell finish was recommended. 

Janice Lonnon made a motion to accept the paint bid from Sherwin-Williams $471.57.  Chelle Shively seconded the motion.  All present voted aye.  Motion carried.

Sandra Hayes reported that a check had been issued to Brent McNamara for $12,625.76 to order the carpet.   Carpet should arrive within 7 - 10 days after being ordered.

Chelle Shively made a motion to purchase anchor boards to secure the shelving units to the walls.  These should be less than $100.  Nancy McDermith seconded the motion.  .  All present voted aye.   Motion carried

The next regular meeting of the board of trustees will be held at 1:00 PM on August 12, 2011.
