Hope Welty Public Library Board of Trustees Minutes
April 12, 2013
Call to Order:
The regular meeting of the Hope Welty Public Library (HWPL) District board of trustees was held at library on April 12, 2013. The meeting was called to order at 1:05 by Vice-President, Mary Hissong. Present were board members : mMary Hissong, Genea Lawler, Janice Lonnon, Nancy McDermith, Chelle Shively,,Tracy Mogged and Library Director Shari Rawlings.
Minutes of the last HWPL meeting:
Minutes of the meeting on March 8, 2013 were read and approved as read. Genea Lawler moved to accept the minutes as read. Tracy Mogged seconded the motion. All present voted aye. Motion carried.
The treasurer's report was given by treasurer,Chelle Shivelyand showed a balance of $98,106.05 before paying this months bills. Expenses for the month are $11,220.72. Genea Lawler moved expenses be allowed and Tracy Mogged seconded the motion. Roll call vote yes: Mary Hissong, Genea Lawler, Janice Lonnon, Nancy McDermith, Chelle Shively, and Tracy Mogged. Motion carried. Shari or Chelle will invite Vicki Mercer, bookkeeper, to attend meetings as her schedule allows.
> Use of the library facilities,movement of furniture ,and thermostat settings was discussed and individual situations addressed by the director.
> A new computer tower is needed for the bookkeeper. Chelle Shively moved to allow Shari to have the authority to purchase a new tower for the bookkeeper no to exceed $600. Genea Lawler seconded the motion. Roll call vote yes: Mary Hissong, Genea Lawler, Janice Lonnon,Nancy McDermith, Tracy Mogged, Chelle Shivley. No nays. Motion carried.
> Hours for the staff during the summer reading program will increase for June and the first part of July. On Mondays all staff will work and 2 people will work the rest of the week.
> Computer policy changes were discussed. Tracy Mogged moved to give the director the authority to make policy changes regarding "no video chatting", " no posting pictures", and "changing the age to 14 for children to use the computers with no parent present" after checking with the Decatur Library as to the wording in their policy until month. Janice Lonnon seconded the motion. All present voted aye. Motion carried.

Roofing Bids were published and are due April 30, 2013. So far only one has been received. These will be opened at the May 10,2013 meeting.Water fountain, Genea Lawler moved to have Randy West purchase and install a water fountain. Chelle Shively seconded the motion. Roll call vote yes: Mary Hissong, Genea Lawler,Janice Lonnon, Nancy McDermith, Tracy Mogged and Chelle Shively. No nays. Motion carried. Update from lawyer. The Person did not appear in court so the next step is to Issuse Statement to Discover Assets.

Carpet cleaning is not necessary at this time.
Annual review of Director. Forms were handed out for the trustees to complete. They will be compiled and the evaluation will take place during the May meeting.

The next regular meeting for the HWPL District Board of Trustees will be May 10,2013 at 1:00.
Chelle Shivley made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 2:10 PM Seconded by Tracy Mogged. All present voted aye. Motion carried.
