Hope Welty Public Library District Board of Trustees Minutes

January 14, 2011

Call to Order:

The regular monthly meeting of the Hope Welty Public Library (HWPL) District board of trustees was held at the library on January 14, 2011.  The meeting was called to order at 1:00 PM by the Vice-President.  Present were board members: Janice Lonnon, Mary Hissong, Genea Lawler, Chelle Shively and Library Director, Sandra Hayes.  Irma Joynt, Tracy Mogged and Nancy McDermith were absent.

Minutes of last HWPL meeting:

Minutes of the previous month's HWPL board meeting were read and approved.

Treasurer's Report:

The treasurer's report was given by the director and showed a balance of $140,178.29.  Expenses for the month were $10,116.50.  Genea moved expenses be allowed, and Chelle seconded the motion.  All present voted aye.  Motion carried. 

Announcements:

Time for Librarian:

• Sandi will attend the next merger meeting in Effingham on Feb. 10.
• Genea, Nancy and Chelle will run in April 5, 2011 election.  Chelle will be a write-in.
• Change in the Open Meetings Act requires a public forum at all open board meetings.
• Grant money has been received for remodeling.  Bids will be sought for ADA door opener.
• CD has matured at the bank.
