Hope Welty Public Library District Board of Trustees Minutes

August 13, 2010

Call to Order:

The regular monthly meeting of the Hope Welty Public Library (HWPL) District board of trustees was held at the library on August 13, 2010.  The meeting was called to order at 1:00 PM by the President.  Present were board members: Irma Joynt, Janice Lonnon, Genea Lawler, Chelle Shively, Tracy Mogged, and Library Director, Sandra Hayes.  Absent was Janice Buckley and Mary Hissong.

Minutes of last HWPL meeting:

Minutes of the previous month's HWPL board meeting were read and approved with one correction.  The date of the TIF meeting should read July 16 not June 16.

Treasurer's Report:

The treasurer's report was given by the Tracy and showed a balance of $95,036.53.  Expenses for the month were $8,659.  Tracy moved expenses be allowed, and Chelle seconded the motion.  All present voted aye.  Motion carried. 

Announcements:

• A letter of resignation from the Library Board of Trustees from Janice Buckley was read.

Time for Librarian:

●         Genea represented the library at the TIF meeting.

Old Business:

●         S&S Landscaping’s  bid for the west of the library was reviewed. It was decided to ask for a new bid for putting down rock, only.

●         Proposed budget is posted in the library

●         Comp-time policy needed

●         Meeting room renovations on hold until water issues from neighboring building are resolved.

New Business:

• The board would like a letter from the lawyer to be sent to Tammy Nuding regarding the water from the building entering the library
• Per Capita grant is due Oct. 15.  Tracy moved not to apply for the Per Capita grant for FY11.  Janice seconded the motion.  All present voted aye; motion carried.
