Call to Order:

The regular monthly meeting of the Hope Welty Public Library (HWPL) District board of trustees was

held at the library on April 9, 2010. The meeting was called to order at 1:00 PM by the President.

Present were board members: Irma Joynt, Janice Buckley, Genea Lawler, Janice Lonnon, Mary

Hissong and Library Director, Sandra Hayes. Tracy Mogged and Chelle Shively were absent.

Minutes of last HWPL meeting:

Minutes of the previous month's HWPL board meeting were read and approved.

Treasurer's Report:

The treasurer's report was given by the director and showed a balance of $74,552.76 before paying bills

for the month. Expenses for the month were $8,241.33. Janice B. moved expenses be allowed, and

Mary seconded the motion. All present voted aye. Motion carried.

Announcements:

● There were no announcements.

Time for Librarian:

● Sandra and Jill attended a video conference on getting teens to library programming

● Farmer's market was discussed. Genea moved that HWPL will not be a sponsor of a Farmer's

Market, Janice L. seconded the motion. All present voted aye; motion carried.

● Lost Decatur Public Library items totaling $110 have been charged to HWPL will be paid.

● Sandra will be attending a Budgeting for Boards workshop on April 14

● Andrea Marley donated $100 to the library

Old Business:

● Library repairs are on hold until grant money received

● Policy updates - emergency closing policy was discussed

New Business:

● Live and Learn Construction Grant agreement will be signed by Sandra and returned
