Books and Periodicals
The materials you need for work, school, or fun!
The Library has a dynamic and constantly growing collection of fiction, non-fiction, and reference books for all ages. We also have an ever-growing collection of large-print books. If you don't find what you need on our shelves, our membership in the Rolling Prairie Library System allows us access to virtually any materials you may need.
Our children's department has books and magazines for children from birth through Jr. High School. Board books, picture books, and chapter books (including Accelerated Reader titles) are among the fiction offerings, and in our Juvenile Non-Fiction area, kids can find everything they'll need for homework assignments, research projects, and just for fun!
Looking for some light reading? In our adult department, you'll find popular fiction, including romance, mysteries, westerns, science fiction, and inspirational fiction. The fiction area also includes classic works of literature and some authors you may not have tried before.
The non-fiction area includes books on any subject you might want to learn more about. How-to books, cookbooks, history books, and materials for home-school children are just a few examples of the materials you'll find.
Magazines and newspapers are available in the periodicals area. Titles such as People, Woman's Day, Successful Farming, and Discovery are included in our collection.
Young Adult Materials
Young Adults will find some really great reading in our Young Adult fiction area. Popular authors such as Lois Duncan, Stephanie Meyer, and Gary Paulsen can be found here, and more. Popular teen magazines are also located in the Young Adult area.
Encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases, and biographical sources are just a few of the helpful resources you'll find in the Reference department. These books cannot be checked out, so we can be sure they are always available to answer your questions when you need them.
Audio Visual Materials
Modern technology has brought about a change in libraries. No longer is the word "library" synonymous with "books". To make your life more convenient, more comfortable, and more fun, we've made available a variety of audio-visual items for you to check out.
Video Cassettes and DVD's
Our movie collection includes a variety of titles, from those featuring Hannah Montana to instructional videos on home improvement topics. Classic movies, new movies, and more can be found among our videos!
Books on Cassette, CD and Self-contained players
Our audio books are popular with commuters, those who have visual impairments, and people who do housework, sewing, or other work with their hands. Both fiction and non-fiction are available, and a growing number of popular books are becoming available on cassette, cd and self-contained players (Playaway).
Computers and Copiers
Several personal computers, as well as Internet access and printers are available for use in the Library. Our fax machine is available for you to send or receive faxes.
